**International Conference Progress on Difference Equations – PODE 2019
Celebrating the 70th Birthday of David Rand, University of Warwick, UK**
The School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal, has the privilege to organize, under the auspices of the International Society of Difference Equations ISDE, the 12th meeting of the International Workshop “Progress on Difference Equations PODE 2019 Which will be held from 27th to 30th of May, 2019.
This 12th meeting of PODE is dedicated to honour Professor David Rand, University of Warwick, UK, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
Under the auspices of the International Society of Difference Equations ISDE, PODE 2019 will continue to honour the tradition of the previous meetings, holding a scientific international forum for researchers from around the world.
The aim of PODE 2019 is to present and discuss the latest trends and developments in the fields of Difference Equations, Discrete Dynamical Systems, Functional Equations and their applications.
PODE 2019 would also provide an excellent opportunity for students (PhD and MSc) and other researchers to meet world top researchers in the fields of Difference Equations, Discrete Dynamical Systems, Functional Equations and their applications.
The first workshop PODE took place in Laufen (Germany) PODE 2007, and since then the meeting has been held every year in several cities in Europe and US, namely in Laufen (Germany) PODE 2008, Bedlewo (Poland) PODE 2009, Xanthi (Greece) PODE 2010, Dublin (Ireland) PODE 2011, Richmond (Virginia, USA) PODE 2012, Bialystok (Poland) PODE 2013, Izmir (Turkey) PODE 2014, Covilhã (Portugal) PODE 2015, Riga (Latvia) PODE 2016 and Urbino (Italy) PODE 2017.
After 2017, the workshop PODE alternates each year with the European Conference on Iteration Theory ECIT and therefore is being held every two years.
The Scientific and Organizing Committees are working, diligently, to have a workshop that meets the high scientific standards of its previous predecessors as well as a pleasant and friendly ambience.
